Sydney to be home to world-leading innovation precinct

The Sydney Business Chamber says today’s announcement that Sydney will be home to a world-leading start-up and innovation hub will transform Sydney into Australia’s top innovation city and one of the most significant in the Asia Pacific.
“We congratulate the NSW Government through Jobs for NSW on the establishment of this global innovation and start-up hub,” said Patricia Forsythe, Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber.
“This is an important step forward in the Government’s Innovation Strategy that was released late last year and will no doubt improve economic activity and place Sydney as number one in the innovative space in the Southern Hemisphere.
“Jobs for NSW, through its Building Partnerships Grant Scheme, is already working with start-ups across NSW to address the number one barrier to business innovation – access to finance.
“This start-up hub will attract young talent to the city and create thousands of jobs.
“It will be a front door to Sydney’s start-up and research communities for visiting executives and business leaders.
“This hub will be in a great location with good access to Wynyard’s transport interchange and the key financial hub at Barangaroo.
“We know that innovation centres benefit greatly from their close proximity to transport, active spaces and most importantly, other businesses.
“Today’s announcement further reiterates that Sydney is the ideal place to live and to do business,” Mrs Forsythe said.
