Sydney’s South West Wins as Amazon Moves In

The Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney says Amazon’s decision to open a fulfilment centre in Sydney’s south west will boost the local economy and will be a jobs generator for the region.

David Borger, Director of the Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney, said, “The Chamber is thrilled the online retailer giant has chosen to establish its largest fulfilment centre in the country at Moorebank.

“The 43,000 square-metre centre will result in hundreds of jobs for the region meaning that people will be able to work close to where they live.

“Businesses who sell their products on Amazon will have greater and easier access to customers around Australia, which is good news for the economy,” he said.

“This is a massive vote of confidence for Sydney’s south west and it is clear that many businesses are starting to become interested in setting up shop there.

“With close proximity to where the new Western Sydney Airport will be located and to Liverpool, Amazon has made a smart choice in deciding to position itself at Moorebank.

“Liverpool, with its planned major expansion of the hospital complex and the addition of a private hospital, has significant potential to attract more businesses and jobs to the area.

“This is just the beginning of a bright future for a region I can already see is thriving,” Mr Borger said.
