Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour to Amplify the Precinct’s Luxurious Vibe
08 Aug 2017
The Sydney Business Chamber says the completion of Darling Harbour’s first luxury five-star hotel will see the realisation of the precinct’s transformation as a key business and tourism destination.
“Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour will complement the new International Convention Centre and together will grow Sydney’s competitive advantage as a city where many of its key tourist assets are adjacent to one another,” said Patricia Forsythe, Executive Director of the Sydney Business Chamber.
“With Sydney accounting for 64 per cent of tourism business in NSW in June 2015, this transformative project will boost Darling Harbour’s visitor attraction and will ensure the city remains as one of the world’s best destination for business events,” Mrs Forsythe said.
Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour has been developed, designed and constructed by property and infrastructure group Lendlease, and the architect is award-winning Richard Francis Jones.
“This is just another example of high-quality developments within Sydney’s built environment and will further encourage national and international visitors to enjoy this section of the harbour.
“Sydney should be delighted that this impressive building is now complete and will be the final touch to the business events facilities of Darling Harbour.
“This is a major milestone and there is no doubt Sydney will reap major economic benefits from this new project,” she said.
Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour has 590 rooms, a rooftop club lounge, meeting rooms, gym, ballroom and luxury outdoor pool deck, as well as bars and restaurants with views of Sydney’s CBD.
